It is early afternoon in South Africa and although the April sun is shining brightly, there is a cool breeze blowing... I am sipping a good cup of coffee and enjoying some down time after a busy morning at the sewing machine and pondering all that has happened over the last while.
I wonder, how it is that I have had so little to share on my little corner of the web lately...?

Recently, the Lord graciously blessed me with a little part time job at a sweet
gift shop nearby. I work as a shopkeeper two or three days a week and
love conversing with customers and doing my hand sewing when the shop is
quiet. It is simply the perfect fit for me in so many ways and I am
thankful for the experience as we have dreams of opening our own little
shop someday... {{smiles}}
On
the days I am home, I like to catch up with the housework I am behind
on...ironing, cleaning, hand washing and such. I also prepare hand sewing
for the days I am at the shop so as to use my time productively which
in turn means when I am home, I can simply enjoy being a daughter and
sister and embrace and cherish each moment...
I do find with working I am more tired and thus, am not always able to write to dear friends or share anything on my blog... I do miss stopping by though and do hope to resume regular posting fairly soon...

In the evening I find reading to be very relaxing and helps me unwind after a busy day...
The other day whilst at the mall I came across the Rose Trilogy by Beverly Lewis on sale.
I seldom buy books as they are so expensive, but I found all three books for what would work out to only $10 if I did a conversion from rands to dollars. What a delight! {{smiles}}
Our
little Caleb continues to keep us on our toes and will be celebrating
his first birthday at the end of this month. Where has the time gone? If you recall, last
year this time we were anxiously anticipating the day Caleb would make
his arrival...
We have bittersweet memories of Caleb's birth and praise the Lord for the way in which He intervened and sent loving prayer warriors to hold our family in prayer through such a dark, difficult time. Caleb has truly made life richer and sweeter!

People
who ask us his age cannot believe he is not even a year old... He
literally runs where he wants to go and negotiates slopes and hills like
a pro. We went for a walk in the forest a few days ago, and our little
chap insisted on walking for the most part. Caleb also recognises
members of his family and can point to each of us by name which is no
small feat considering he has a mom and dad and six adoring sisters! {{smiles}}
I sewed a pair of pyjamas for him last week and hope to complete a
track suit for him as well...cooler days are creeping in...more pictures
to hopefully come soon!
Our
sweet princess, Gabrielle, celebrated her tenth birthday yesterday. I
sewed her a beautiful (and really very simple) yoked and pleated tunic for her. It
was my first time attempting this particular pattern and I am very
pleased indeed with the outcome... Of course, I cannot wait to see her
in it... Nancy bought her a pair of leggings to wear with it as it is
long enough to be worn as a dress shirt.
Gabrielle is one sister I have not made very much for - something she reminds me of regularly! {{smiles}} I hope to share a picture of the completed garment next week sometime, as well as a photoshoot which I have hopes of doing with our special birthday girl...

We
are currently busy organising our home and doing some major
de-cluttering... Something the Lord has been showing me lately is how
little we really need in life. I have come to realise how unimportant
the ''important'' things are in reality...our relationship with the Lord
and the ones closest to us is what truly matters in the heavenly
realm. I am learning to
embrace the simple pleasures in this beautiful life and cherish each
moment for what is... I am striving to spend more time with Jesus and
draw nearer to His heart.
I pray that this week may be a truly blessed and joyful one for you, dear readers...
Thank you for being faithful to visit...your friendship means so much to me and I am thankful to have the privilege of sharing my journey to beautiful womanhood with you!
Which reminds me...I celebrated eight years of blogging on April 9th! What a blessed experience it has been thus far! {{smiles}}

Lovely friend,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post sharing all that you have been up to lately! Caleb is such a little boy now, and I can see why people are shocked to learn that he isn't even one yet! I know he must be so much fun for you all and to have a little boy in the family is such a sweet blessing.
I loved hearing about your little job and hope to hear more soon! It sounds like such a perfect fit for you and what great practice for when you all do open your own shop someday. That sounds like a delightful plan and desire {{smiles}}
And yay for finding books on sale!! I love when I find books for a great bargain!
Happy birthday to Miss Gabrielle! What fun it was to be 10..I wish her a fun and special year! I do hope you share pictures of the outfit you made for her. It sounds beautiful!
Congratulations on eight years of blogging! I've been at it for about four-and-a-half years now and the time just seems to fly by so quickly! It sure is fun to get to look back at all the old posts and memories though, isn't it?
Dear friend, I am thinking of you and wishing you a lovely Tuesday! Looking forward to seeing all that you share here...
Love and joy,
Libby
Dear Miss Kelly-Anne,
ReplyDeleteOh, your photos are so precious...and it is so good to hear about all the wonderful (yet busy and sometimes exhausting! (smile)) things that are happening in your world. Congratulations on your new job...it sounds like the kind that is just perfect for you! I love hearing about what you have been sewing for your family...I have been busy with baby items as of late (of course!)and making some maternity outfits for my sweet "daughter".
Praying that you and your family are well...and are enjoying these lovely days together.
Sweet blessings,
Mrs. Laura
Oh, sweet friend! It was SO nice to see a post from you. I have been concerned about you and had you on my mind very much. It hit me that we hadn't heard from you in a while, so I was most grateful to read and know that all is well in your corner of the world. Oh, those precious little ones! They are so adorable and growing so quickly! I am so thankful you found a job you enjoy and are able to find fulfillment doing. And, I surely understand your thoughts on letting go of "stuff" in order to draw closer to Jesus. It is SO worth it to live an eternity-focused life, no matter how little we have in this life. Surely God is everything and wants to be our all in all...He is sufficient. Sending much love to you today, sweet friend, and it was just so wonderful to visit with you here. :)
ReplyDeleteMy dear friend, it's been far too long since I have "chatted" with you. What a joy it was to see your beautiful pictures....you have such a precious family!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are well, dear one, and what fun to have a job at a little shop nearby :) I worked at a toy shop for many years and it was very fun and memorable. There is something special about little shops, isn't there?
Thinking of you and wishing you a blessed week. Love and hugs!
How delightful to hear from you, Kelly-Anne! Life sounds full of His richness and blessings for you. A very happy birthday to Miss Gabrielle and Master Caleb! Looking forward to seeing pictures of the celebrations.
ReplyDeleteI love finding books on sale. We have a half price bookstore near by which is always a treat to go browse through. I am hoping to have a library of sorts when we move to the farm as I adore reading and have several books I love to reread. Ah, so many dreams and plans in the works. It is a joy to think about!
Your job sounds like the perfect fit! I hope you find it helpful in fulfilling your dream of your own shop!
Take care, sweet friend!
Love
Cecilia
Lovely to read one of your posts again, dear, as it has been so long! You photos are lovely. (Really, Oscar is such a beautiful cat!) I shall definitely be looking forward to Gabrielle's photoshoot post next week.
ReplyDeleteHugs!

Happy Birthday to Gabrielle and Caleb!
ReplyDeleteYour new part-time job is a great way to learn the ins and outs of operating your own shop.
Good luck with the decluttering. I also hope to do some spring cleaning over the next few weeks.
Yes, I have also been missing you in the land of blog. It sounds like you have definitely been a very busy girl! Little Caleb is just adorable (as well as his sisters) and he surely has outgrown his baby boy looks. Glad all is well with you, Kelly-Anne! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a lovely, delightful young woman! I always adore visiting here to see what you have been up to. I am happy to hear that you are enjoying your part time job. It sounds like the perfect job and such good experience for you, especially since you would like to open your own someday. I can hardly believe Caleb is going to turn 1! He looks so grown up playing with your sisters. He is as beautiful and you and your sisters. Such a lovely family. I do hope you have a wonderful week ahead my sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
Congratulations on your job. Sounds like you are enjoying working in the shop. Caleb is a big boy. Your siblings are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing Gabrielle in her new outfit. Hope Gabrielle had a nice birthday. Wishing Gabrielle a year of happiness and a year of blessings. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GABRIELLE
Marilyn and Marion
Dearest Kelly-Anne, what a delight to view such lovely photos of your brother and sisters! Your little brother is growing so much :0) yes, the time does fly and it is always so good to look back and see the photos of when they were babies :0) Congratulations on your part-time job. Yes, you will be a bit more tired now, but it is all so good to be a testimony of God's love while you are working :)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week... :D mari
Beautiful photos of your life, as always! I like the sweet, expressive photos of siblings and how well you captured Sir Oscar's stunning eyes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new job! :) I understand how it can be tiring working even part-time while keeping up with other aspects of life. Things like blogging get placed slightly back on the priority list. ;)
Wow, Caleb is almost one!? He definitely is looking more like a little boy than a baby.
Have a lovely week my friend! <3
These are the sweetest pictures, Kelly-Anne. And your cat.....those eyes! That's nice that you are de-cluttering around the home. I'm doing the same. It clears the mind, and we feel renewed. : ) How wonderful it is that you sew clothes regularly for your siblings.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying these April days.
~Sheri

Oh my goodness Caleb is sure growing up quickly. Cute as a button too, as are your adorable little sisters. Your Oscar kitty is a cutie too. Sounds like you have been busy but it's a good sort of busy. Always fun to see what is happening in your corner of the world.
ReplyDeleteOh my that Caleb! What a heart stopper his smile is! Soo precious! I can hardly believe it has been a year! I do remember so well the prayers that we prayed for your mother and his safe arrival, so thankful for the power in prayer that we have!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you are working in a little shop in town, and that you can do quiet handwork when you can, that is a perfect fit for you indeed! The pictures of your siblings are darling, you have a way with that camera! I know how busy life surely does get, and hope to see you post when you can :) Hugs to you today dear friend!
