I have just returned from a good refreshing walk...
During the summer months I find walking anywhere exhausting and we have been experiencing so much humidity lately which makes walking virtually impossible.
However, today is much cooler, so Beth and I put Caleb in his pram and took him and the dogs to a nearby park for half an hour or so.
I cherish these quieter days at home...
My dad will be arriving on Sunday for a month long visit! Oh, how excited we are... Words cannot express how eager we are to be reunited! Thus...I will purpose to be at home more while he is here so that we can enjoy some precious family time during his holiday.
January has been a busy month for us thus far...it began with my 21st birthday which we celebrated by going out to supper as a family. Three of my dear friends joined us which made the occasion extra special! It was such a memorable birthday...
A week later Beth and I left on camp... I was privileged to be a counsellor at youth camp again this year, and this time Beth came along as a camper. We had a wonderful few days learning more about our Saviour - what a blessing to be able to play a small part in the lives of girls younger than myself...
After camp I thought it would quieten down somewhat, but it just seemed to just get busier!
Thus, I can't say I have managed to keep up with sewing lately...in fact, I can feel the withdrawal symptoms setting in... {{winks}}
Here are a couple items I made for a client sometime ago...they are a little more modern than I am used to making, but oh my, they were fun!
Snuggle Bunnies...
Bunny Rattles...
A few more Snuggle Bunnies...
I have done very little leisure sewing over the past few months, so I am hoping to set aside time for that in the next little while. Back in September I participated in a teacup exchange... Well, my sweet partner in Australia sent out my teacup at around the same time as everyone else, but for some reason it got delayed along the way... I was so excited to receive it two weeks ago - I think Peta was beginning to wonder if it would ever reach me!
Oh my...what a sweet package she put together for me! I was so touched by her kindness... Not only did she choose the most beautiful teacup to bless me with, but she included delicious lemongrass, lime and ginger tea, a pretty handmade pin booklet as well as a selection of Tilda quilting fabric... I simply cannot wait to put them to good use! {{Smiles}}
My teacup package went to a sweet young lady in New Zealand. This is what I sent her...
I believe putting together packages for sweet friends to be one of the most enjoyable things a person could do!

And now for a few photographs of the family taken on the day of my birthday...
Just look at how this precious boy has grown! Caleb is now 21 months and continues to fill our lives with joy and laughter...
Caleb and Sofia (6) have recently become the best of buddies. They love playing together which is so sweet to see!
Caleb is talking ever so beautifully...he is fascinated by anything that has an engine and particularly obsessed with trains. It is incredible how innate his boyish nature is despite having six older sisters! {{smiles}}
Rebekah and Sofia...
Beth and Gabrielle...
What a special picture...Mom with her eldest and youngest child...
We finally had a photograph taken of us all together! We are just missing Dad in this picture so I think we need to schedule a photoshoot for while he is home... {{Smiles}}
And now for a few pictures to make you smile...
Aren't these so precious?
~
Thank you for visiting today, sweet friends...it is always such a delight to have you!
I hope to stop by again soon with pictures of the beautiful tea cups my mom and dad gifted me with for my birthday...
Love and blessings in Christ,

What a beautiful family and wonderful photos...everyone has grown so! And a belated Happy Birthday to you! Ah...to be 21 again! Well, if that were even possible, I would certainly do many things differently...LOL! Enjoy having the time with your father and many blessings to you and yours! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThis was a purely delightful post, Kelly-Anne! Oh, I'm so glad you had a lovely birthday with your family...and I think that picture of your mom with all her children definitely needs to be framed {{smiles}} It's so sweet! You can just see the love your mom has for her children and family in her face! What a precious lady she must be ♥ I'm sure she and my mom would get along splendidly!
ReplyDeleteYour sewing projects are wonderful, too! You certainly have a gift, my friend. I got back to sewing a bit over the weekend, by finally sewing a cover for my Bible. I had ordered some fabric a couple weeks ago and got to enjoy an evening of creating and sewing on Saturday, with hopes of doing a bit more sewing soon. I'm wanting to make some bookmarks to match and perhaps another cover.
I hope you all have a marvellous time with your Dad when he arrives...soak up every single minute of cherished family time!
Thinking of you, sweet friend, and I shall be responding to your email very soon {{smiles}}
Love to you,
Libby

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you had a wonderful birthday month! Your beautiful teacup was definitely worth waiting for. I always enjoy seeing photos of your sweet siblings. I'm amazed by how big Caleb has grown! Enjoy the visit with your dad.
ReplyDeleteAwe my sweet friend, It has truly been a while since I have visited your blog. I was just thinking about you and decided to see how you were doing! I saw that your Daddy had to get a job oversees. I know that must be very hard for your family so I will be praying for you all during this season. God brings us into different circumstances even though it isn't what we always want. Your photography is simply wonderful! I truly believe you should start your own photography buisness! Right now, I am back in school! School is truly wonderful but also extremely difficult. I am taking Medical-Surgical Nursing, Advanced Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Nursing Informatics, Old Testament Survey, Microbiology and a lab that goes with that, and last but not least clinical. Clinical is once a week and this semester we will be going to the hospital for the first time. We will be going there for 10 weeks which is super exciting and scary at the same time, since all the skills I am learning are needing to be recalled and practiced correctly. The Lord teaches me that even though it seems like it is all about school it is not. It is also most importantly about having a relationship with Him despite the business of life. This was hard to learn for me last semester and I trying not to make the same mistake as last semester. School just teaches me so much more than about Nursing but also about life. Well I really need to finish a quiz I am in the middle of taking right now and then got distracted and decided to write you! I miss the times when we would write back and forth. I hope you have a wonderful day friend! Maybe someday we will meet!! Sarah Spies
ReplyDeleteSweet Kelly-Anne! Always a joy to visit with you, and how thankful I am to hear that your father is returning home to be with his family! Such a joyous reunion that will be! Such amazing and precious pictures you have taken of your family, and oh my, how they are growing! Just beautiful pictures of Caleb and his momma, and you with them too! I'm so sorry your teacup was delayed in the mail for such a long time, but glad that you finally got it and what a beauty it is! I know you will enjoy many sweet cups of tea out of it! I pray the Lord's most precious blessings on your life now that you are 21, and celebrating being in your 21st year :) Many hugs and blessings to you dear friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such wonderful photos of your beautiful family. Lovely gift exchanges and cute snuggle bunnies.
