^ Tis the season for out of door eating... The girls love to relax on their campy chairs while we have a barbecue!
A glimpse into my world...in December
A glimpse into my day...♥
As today is Sunday, I am enjoying a beautiful day of rest which began with a wonderful church service, singing hymns and fellowshipping with dear friends..
Upon returning home, I baked some delicious courgette, chive and cheese scones again because...they're so good! {{smiles}} Look out for the recipe tomorrow...
Watching...♥
Having now sadly completed watching the first Road to Avonlea series as well as all the Love Comes Softly films, I don't have anything more to watch which is not so bad seeing as I haven't any handwork to complete... Besides, summer is not really the time for wasting precious hours by watching television!
What I am Reading...♥
I am still loving Amish fiction, particularly the books by Beverley Lewis... The series I am currently reading is Annie's People and it is just beautiful...I would highly recommend her novels as they are good, wholesome stories with so much to cause you to stop and ponder...
Listening to...♥
I rediscovered my love for The Piano Guys and am enjoying a few songs from their new album, Uncharted. Apart from that, Christmas worship music from Chris Tomlin and a few beautiful carols by Haley Westenra.
^ Fresh ingredients from the garden mean delicious gourmet meals...a new favourite of ours are these homemade chicken and salad wraps which Nancy makes for us...
Sewing...♥
Ah...I have now laid aside my work sewing for the year, although I am hoping to complete a few of the projects lying in my drawers before the close of the year... I just decided that these holidays are so very short and I wanted to enjoy some quality time with my precious family as well as have a short rest...
I do have some pleasure sewing to work on, though... We picked names for gift giving this Christmas and I got little Sofia's name, so I hope to sew her some little horse softies as she loves anything equine! {{Smiles}}
Dreaming of...♥
My upcoming twentieth birthday picnic with a few dear friends and my sister, Nancy at beautiful Jubilee Creek... A youth camp the Lord led me to volunteer as a counsellor at in early January and a picnic supper at the beach with my sweet family and friends!
In the Garden...♥
Oh my, our garden is producing over time! We are harvesting ever so many courgettes now as well as gem squash, Swiss chard, carrots, herbs, cucumber, lettuce and beetroot. Butternut are growing beautifully and beans will soon be dry for harvesting... We seldom buy vegetables now, nor fruit as we have fresh gooseberries, blackberries and strawberries on hand! Oh, what a wonderful feeling to sit down to a homegrown and homemade meal! {{smiles}}
Thankful for...♥
A very special Christmas tea party with dear friends as well as a ladies Christmas party at church which was oh, so lovely! Grocery shopping with my mom, Dad and Caleb but stealing a few moments for browsing the scrap booking section of a stationary store as well purchasing a pretty new tea cup! The kindest, most generous gifts and letters from dear friends across an ocean...
Happy new week to you, dear readers...enjoy the final week before Christmas!
Blessings in Christ,
Kelly-Anne

I love The Piano Guys, too! Especially their Christmas album.
ReplyDeleteOh, your December sounds so lovely! (Mine is buried in snow and keeps us inside with -20 degree weather.) And your garden produce looks delicious -- makes me wish I could experience your peaceful, happy farm life myself :-)
While I look out my window into the frozen snowy landscape, it is hard to imagine a summer afternoon picnic or BBQ, but I can feel the joy in your heart about the wonderful experiences of summer, and how lovely it is to eat food grown in your own garden! The surprise for your sweet sister that you are sewing will surely be a delight and blessing to her! You have the most precious family! Little Caleb is sure growing, my he is a handsome fellow, and hard to believe he is 8 months old already, wow! May the Lord bless you my dear, in this season of celebrating and worshiping Him, and may the blessings be many for your family too! Many hugs to you today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, Kelly-Anne! It seems so odd that it is summer there, while snow is coming down like nuts here! {{smiles}} Ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteYour photos were lovely, and I enjoyed seeing what you have been up to lately! I hope you received my longer email, have you received my letter? {{smiles}}
Merry Christmas, dear friend!
Sounds like a wonderful month of December for you Kelly-Anne! It's very cold and snowy here and its supposed to drop down to -10 again tonight. Brrr!! I've finally gotten all my Christmas shopping done and now I'm just enjoying the few final projects I have been creating with my boys and MIL. I can't believe Christmas is in a week! Where did this month go?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are taking some moments to stop and enjoy this season with your family! It's so very important!
May you take delight in all that you set your heart to do this Christmas season!
Thinking of you,
Amy
Good morning to you, Kelly-Anne! The past couple of weeks have been full of activity and this one promises to be no different! Winter found us at last and having a cozy fire to sit in front of has been delightful.
ReplyDeleteEating outside is one of our favorite things to do too! The girls look happy indeed. My son loved his blocks and cars too. Must be a boy thing :-)
I love listening to Chris Tomlin! His music is wonderful...Your garden produce! Oh my! It all looks so good.
Wishing you much love and joy this week as we head into the final week of Christmas. Hugs,
Cecilia

How I enjoyed reading your latest diary entry, Kelly-Anne! These truly are some of my most favorite posts, both to write and read from others {{smiles}}
ReplyDeleteYour pictures were so lovely and I loved seeing and hearing what you have been up to. I imagine summertime and the holidays together makes this a busy time of year...but fun, too, I know!! That chicken and salad wrap that Nancy made looks so delicious...what all does she put on them? I'd love to know as I'm constantly on the lookout for simple lunch ideas.
I so enjoyed my little visit to your delightful blog, my friend! It truly is one of my favorite places to stop by online {{smiles}}
With much love!
Cute sibling photos! I am drooling over Nancy's chicken wraps and admiring the bounty from your garden. I hope you'll share your pretty new teacup in a future post. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
