“First we must understand that all of the world's deceptions
flow from the belief that love is primarily for the fulfilment and comfort of
the self. The world poisons love by focusing first and foremost on meeting
one's own needs.
Christ taught that love is not for the fulfilment of the
self but for the Glory of God and the food of others. True love is selfless. It
gives; it sacrifices; it dies to its own needs.”
~ Joshua Harris
"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three, but the greatest of these is charity."
~ 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love and blessings in Christ to you, dearest readers...

Thanks for the reminder, sometimes it's hard to put the needs before our own, but when we do are blessed in returned!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,Kelly-Anne.
Those are good quotes. I am reminded often of the truth of the Love Chapter 1 Corinthians 13 and pray I can be more loving.
ReplyDeleteSuch very wise words, Kelly-Anne. True Biblical love is in serving others. A beautiful post, Dear.
ReplyDeleteI tagged you over at my blog, if you're interested :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, convicting reminder! Selflessness is the essence of godly love, as Christ showed us. :) Have a lovely weekend, friend!
ReplyDeleteThose words are beautiful, and they are words the world needs to hear! The message around us today, the "me, me, me" concept is so destructive. Beautiful, beautiful message you have shared today! Many hugs to you my friend :)

ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines to you! I love you so much! {{smiles}}
Oh Kelly-Anne, I have loved this picture for a long time. It reminds me of Jess and her new husband, as he is a noble man and treats her wonderful. I love the pictures you choose for your "Thursday Pearls" posts.
