Hello sweet friends...♥
I am sipping a cup of hot coffee and indulging in a slice of homemade chocolate cake as I write this, feeling very cosy at home indeed.
"Home is the nicest word there is."
After starting my day with coffee and time with the Lord, I accomplished a 30-minute workout session. Usually I go for a 45 minute power walk, but as I can't leave the house right now, a fun YouTube fitness session was a good alternative. {{smiles}}
After completing my few household chores and getting myself done for the day,
I spent the rest of the morning in the comfort of my sewing room, listening to lovely, uplifting hymns, and playing with fabric scraps...
Every year with the arrival of Autumnal weather, I have wanted to make fabric pumpkins, but something else more important always popped up, and before I knew it, Winter had crept in and the time for fall decorating was over...
However, as we currently find ourselves in strict lockdown in our corner of the world, suddenly I have some time to do a little leisure sewing. {{smiles}}
You can find the free pattern I used for these sweet fabric pumpkins by clicking here. ♥
I can't remember when last I sewed for the sheer pleasure of it, or made something frivolous for myself...it was such fun!
And I am so pleased with how these little pumpkins came out...they are going to look so sweet in my room.
I made two small pumpkins and one medium...and of course, one had to be completely pink...I just couldn't help myself! {{Smiles}}
^Stay tuned for a recipe for a homemade red (rooibos cappuccino coming soon! ♥)
This week I decided I would be au pair to my mom, seeing as I am unable to work (if you didn't already know, I au pair for a sweet homeschooling family who have five young children) during this 21 day lockdown.
Yesterday we made felt owls with the little ones after they had completed their schoolwork.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I am endeavoring to stay busy over the next few weeks.
And there is plenty that needs doing around the house and in the garden!
"Home is a shelter from storms - all sorts of storms."
And I am enjoying the time with my family immensely... It is wonderful to have hours devoid of any distraction to have family devotions, sing hymns and spiritual songs, and pray that we and our fellow Believers would be strong and remain faithful to Christ in this trial.
I would like to encourage you to use this time wisely and for the glory of God.
Let us strive to form healthy new habits and daily seek the Lord for wisdom and guidance.
How are you keeping yourselves busy during lockdown?
Have you sewed fabric pumpkins before?
Blessings for the week ahead!
Oh, and happy last day of March! ♥

Hi Kelly-Anne!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pumpkins you've made. I really like the colors and prints you chose. After seeing your pink one I'm suddenly in need of a pink pumpkin myself. LOL
What cute little owls your sisters made, and hand stitched, too.
Beautiful!
Have a great week!
Always so good to have you stop by, dear Toni! Thank you for your sweet comment! ♥
DeleteAww, I love my little pink pumpkin...it is now cheering up my bookshelf, along with the other two. Hope you get to do some stitching!
Hope you are doing well...sending hugs!
hi Kelly-Anne;
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job on the pumpkins as did Rebekah and Sophia on their owls.
I have just been going out to look at the flowers that are popping up from their winter sleep. We have ordered some flowers to plant in the future when the weather turns warmer. Everything we need we are ordering online. Today we took a walk to the mailbox.
Stay safe and well
God Bless you and your lovely family.
Marion

So lovely to visit virtually with you sweet Kelly-Anne! I enjoyed that cup of coffee with you, it looked quite lovely :) Your pumpkins are darling! It is fun sometimes to just make something for your own self to enjoy! I'm thankful your father is there with you as this virus epidemic races around worldwide. It would have been terrible had he been stranded in China, and not able to come home. May the Lord bless and keep your dear family in His loving care. So wonderful to enjoy the family visiting, and sharing, and time singing and praying together. I think the Lord is smiling about all the beauty that is coming out of the midst of this very difficult situation. Many blessings to you sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, dear Marilyn! I always love hearing from you!
DeleteI am just thinking how Spring must be in full bloom in your garden...I can just imagine all the pleasant hours you must be spending in the lovely outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the quiet! {{smiles}}

Hello Dear Kelly-Ann,
ReplyDeleteGreetings from my heart to yours! You sound so content and fixed on the right things to be doing in these perilous times. But we know God id in control and yet we must keep busy with our daily tasks. I adore your pumpkins so much. We are just getting ready to plant our pumpkin patch here. It has been so nice to see you pop in to visit me on my Blog... Just added you to my sidebar, because for whatever reason my blog roll list will just disappear.
Blessings Roxy

Kelly-Anne, the pumpkins are so lovely, they will be perfect for fall, my Mother works on her Christmas projects in the spring and summer. Thank you for the link.
ReplyDeleteYou have some wonderful ideas of how to spend our time while waiting for the virus to subside.
It looks as though you are making wonderful memories with your family too, the girls did a beautiful job.
May the Lord bless and keep you and your dear family.
Blessings,
Sue
Dear Sue,
DeleteThank you so much for stopping by. Lovely to have you!
Two more weeks of lockdown...but there is more than enough to keep our heart and hands busy!
I must tell you that when I saw the picture you shared of your garden, I immediately felt inspired to go "play in the dirt"!
Have a wonderful, peaceful weekend. Sending hugs your way!
